Polomolok, South Cotabato / B'laan

Abaca and Natural Dyes

Tubular Skirt

This tabih was hand-woven by Yabing Dulo, a B'laan of Amguo, Landaw, Polomolok. She worked on this piece when she was 12 years old, while just an apprentice weaver. The crocodile pattern is the dominant design at the center of the this two-panel ikat tube skirt. Women wear the tabih during special occasions, secured around their waist by a brass belt.
